HELLENIC SEAWAYS - GENERAL TERMS

1. Embarkation Procedure

Passengers and Vehicles must report at the offices port for check-in at least one (1) hour before departure.

2. Bookings

Bookings can be made:
(a) through Interactive Voice Response or our Company’s call center, with the use of a credit card, just by calling (+30) 210 4199000,
(b) through HELLENIC SEAWAYS web page www.hellewnicseaways.gr
(c) from the Central Offices of Hellenic Seaways in Piraeus (2, Aitolikou Street & Kondili coast) and in Athens (98-100 Sygrou Avenue)
(d) the port offices of Hellenic Seaways and all our cooperating travel agencies.

The ticket is strictly personal. It is not transferable and it is valid only for the specific accommodation and route that has been issued for. Changes must be reported to the issuing agent, Central Offices of Hellenic Seaways in Piraeus (2, Aetolikou Street & Kondili coast) and in Athens (98-100 Sygrou Avenue) or the port offices.
Passengers with "open return" tickets (offered only to Saronicos routes by Flying Dolphins and Flying Cats) should confirm their reservations in advance especially during high season.
Tickets bought through the Company’s Web page, Interactive Voice Response or our Company’s call center could be collected from:
(a) The Port Offices of Hellenic Seaways near the vessel at least 1 hour before the departure.
(b) The Port Agencies or the Central Offices of the Company (2, Aetolikou Street & Kondili coast) and in Athens (98-100 Sygrou Avenue)
(c) Tickets could be also delivered by Courier service to an address indicated by the passenger (in Athens and Piraeus area), upon request, under the following necessary conditions:
a) the booking should be requested at least four (4) working days before the departure.
b) the total fare of the reservation must exceed the amount of 300 Euro.

Tickets cancellation/Cancellation Fees
Passengers can cancel their tickets up to 2 hours before departure and are entitled to a 50% refund on ticket value or alternatively, on passenger's demand, tickets can be converted to open departure date tickets. Cancellations by phone are not accepted. Passengers who cancel 2 hours or less before departure are entitled to a 50% refund on ticket value, but tickets CANNOT be converted to open departure date tickets.
For an open ticket's validation, passengers should address to the central reservation office or the port office of departure. Any difference may appear in price shall be paid by the passenger.
After Departure, tickets cannot be cancelled or converted to open date.

3. Tickets Loss

In case of ticket loss, passengers should purchase a new one in order to travel.
A writing report to the travel agency or to the Company is required mentioning the departure date, the route and the serial number of the lost ticket as well as the number of the new one (photocopy). In case the lost ticket has not been used within 12 months from the report's date, passengers are entitled to a new ticket of the same amount.

4. Sailing Delays

Our Company is not responsible for any sailing delay, deviation or modification of the scheduled route, due to weather conditions, the orders of the Ministry of Merchant Marine, the Harbour authorities or due to force majeure, that may affect passengers' safety. In case the voyage is called off due to force majeure (e.g. bad weather conditions) or due to the company's responsibility, passengers are entitled to a full refund while the company has no further obligation. Timetables, fares and travel conditions are subject to modifications, which are published through the company's online reservation system on its website www.hellenicseaways.gr.
The company reserves the right to substitute the vessel for which the ticket was issued upon approval from the Ministry of Merchant Marine.

3. Passengers' Name List

Pursuant to EU Directive 98/41, the shipping company has the obligation to keep a passengers' name list of every voyage, for safety reasons. For the purposes of such registration, tickets should be issued in the name of each passenger and should especially include:
PASSENGER'S SURNAME AND INITIAL
GENDER: MALE/FEMALE
AGE: ADULT- CHILD - INFANT
TYPE OF VEHICLE AND PLATE NUMBER
Furthermore, the shipping company or the travel agency should be informed by any passenger who needs SPECIAL CARE, upon the issuance of the relevant ticket.
It is pointed out that the issuance of tickets on board is strictly prohibited. Therefore, for convenience reasons as well, the booking and issuance of tickets should be affected always on time.

4. Fares / Discounts

The fares include sea passage in selected accommodation and all port expenses. Meals and beverages are not included.
All discounts are not cumulative and only the highest discount is granted at a time, when applicable conditions are met.
Passengers entitled to discounted fares are kindly requested to state it at the time of booking and carry with them all the necessary proof documents during the tickets issue as well as the check-in procedure. Once the ticket is issued, no refunds are provided for price differences.
Groups, trucks, buses, baggage trailers, boat trailers and unescorted vehicles are subject to special agreements.
Children under the age of 5 (infants) travel free of charge in all accommodation categories, in our Conventional and High Speed vessels.
Children 5-10 years old benefit with 50% reduction of the total fare, in all accommodation categories, in our Conventional and High Speed vessels.
Only students from Greek public universities are entitled to student's discount.

5. Safety on Board

It is strictly forbidden for passengers to carry firearms, explosives, flammables, combustibles and other dangerous substances or materials on board.
According to the High Speed code safety regulations, passengers are not allowed to stay at any open area of the High Speed vessels during the sailing.

6. Luggage

Luggage may be left inside vehicles. Passengers are kindly requested to take their personal belongings that may be used during the voyage.
Access to the ship's garage during the voyage is prohibited.
The company shall not be held liable in case of loss of money or valuables stored in cars, luggage, common areas or cabins. Passengers are welcome to check cash and valuables with the Purser's office for safekeeping.

7. Pets

Pets travel free of charge in specially designated kennels on the vessel's deck. Pets are not allowed in indoor public areas or cabins. Pet owners are responsible for feeding and pet hygiene. Pet owners are required to have their pet's valid health papers with them.

8. General Information

Passengers are responsible for complying with all Port, Health and customs regulations.
Passengers ought to comply with the ship's captain and crew instructions regarding public order and safety on board.
Passengers must contact the captain or crew should a complaint arises while on board. EURO is the official currency on board.
